MBBS is Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. In theory these are two separate degrees, but in practice the two are usually treated as one.
Candidate must have passed qualifying examination i.e. HSC (or equivalent) examination with the subject Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
Candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the HSC (or equivalent) examination.
Candidate belonging to backward classes must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained minimum 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the HSC (or equivalent) examination.
Foreign/NRI Category: Admissions are done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

Candidates for admission to the first year of the M.D/M.S Post Graduate Degree (Clinical / Non-Clinical) courses shall be required to possess the following qualifications:
Applicants must meet all requirements stipulated by Medical Council of India.
Accordingly, they should have successfully passed their M.B.B.S. from an institution recognized by Medical Council of India and must have completed or completing their internship on or before 30th April of the year of admission to the Postgraduate Degree (MD/MS)/ Diploma courses.
Candidates should have obtained permanent registration with Medical Council of India / State Medical Councils & Karnataka Medical Council and should submit the same on or before the commencement of classes.
DM / M.Ch
These are super speciality courses. The aim to this course is ability to diagnose and treat disease swiftly and efficiently both on an elective and emergency basis. To produce specialists with necessary skills, judgement and sense of dedication to tackle all major and minor problems. The candidates will be trained in all starting from Basic Sciences to Recent Advances.
The candidate must have passed the Post graduation (MD/MS/DNB) in the relevant subjects.
A candidate who has already acquired a super speciality degree in any one discipline is not eligible to apply for any other discipline.

The duration of super speciality course shall be 3 years
including the period of examination.
The super speciality (DM/M.Ch.) courses are full time courses.
No Candidates shall be allowed to do private practice, apply for/ or join any other course/ any post, once he/she has been admitted in a course till the course is completed.
